One noticeable fact about Shige is his baldness. It's his mark. I think that's what make him unique from the rest of the Squad 6. (I wonder how he got bald.)
Shige is well known in his department for his expertise on interrogation. He's the oldest in the squad 6 and the most experienced (detective) among them. Many wants to be partnered with him to be trained (evident of it is Komatsubara).

In terms of private life, Shige mentioned (in Chapter 15) that he has a daughter and it seems like he's affectionate towards her. (I wonder what his daughter like.)
